CHANA RICE

INGREDIENTS

  • White chana or black chana - 100gms
  • Basmati rice - 1cup
  • Onion- 1
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Cinnamon,cardamom,cloves,bay leaf,star anise,-1 each
  • Tomato - 1/2
  • Curd- 1/2cup
  • Ginger garlic paste -2tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1tsp
  • Garam masala - 1/2tsp
  • Salt
  • Mint leaves - 2tsp
  • Coriander leaves - 2tsp
  • Oil and ghee - 2-3tsp
  • Lemon juice - 2tsp
PREPARATION
  • In a pressure cooker add oil and ghee, add cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, bay leaf, star anise, onion and cook till onion gets golden brown colour.Soak basmati rice with chana cooked water and water for 10 mins.
  • In a mixer grinder add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder and garam masala and make it as a paste.
  • After onion changes its colour add ginger garlic masala paste.after 5 mins add tomato and cooked chana and cook for 2mins.add curd and cook for 5 mins.
  • Then add water and salt.then add soaked rice, coriander leaves, mint leaves and cook for 2whistles.once pressure has gone add lemon juice and mix well.
