TOMATO KURMA

Cooking time: 30-45 mins

INGREDIENTS

  • Tomato - 4
  • Onion - 1
  • Fennel seeds - 1tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1tsp
  • Green chilli - 3
  • Curry leaves 
  • Turmeric powder -1/4tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1tsp
  • Poppy seeds - 1/2tsp
  • Cashew nuts - 5
  • Coriander leaves
  • Mustard seeds- 1/4tsp
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Water
PREPARATION
  • In a pan add tomato and cook for 5- 10  mins and grind well.
  • Again in a pan add oil, mustard seeds, fennel seeds, green chilli -1, curry leaves and onion.
  • Once onion changes its colour add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and add tomato paste and 1 cup water and cook for 10 mins.
  • In a mixer grinder add coconut, cashew nuts, green chilli, fennel seeds, poppy seeds and grind well into a paste by adding water.
  • Add coconut paste into gravy and add half cup water.
  • Cook for 5 mins and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Best side dish for idly and dosa.
