- Mint leaves - 1/2 cup
- Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
- Green chilli - 4
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Onion - 1
- Bay leaf, cinnamon,cardamom,cloves,star flower - 1 ( each)
- Oil and ghee - 2 tsp
- Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Lemon juice - 1 tsp
- Cashew nuts - 5
- Potato or green peas - 1/2 cup ( optional )
- Water
- Salt
- Basmathi rice - 1 cup
- Soak basmathi rice for 1/2 hour .( for 1 cup rice 2 cups of water).
- In a pressure cooker add 2 tsp of oil and ghee, bay leaf,cinnamon,cardamom,star flower , fennel seeds and cloves.
- Add onion and cook for 5 mins and add ginger garlic paste.grind mint leaves,coriander leaves and green chilli in to fine thick paste by adding little water.
- Add the grind paste and cook for 5 -7 mins.Add green peas or potato (optional).
- Then add water and salt.
- Once water started to boil add rice and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
- Once pressure released add ghee and lemon juice.
- Garnish with coriander and mint leaves.
