BRINJAL CHUTNEY

Cooking time :  45 mins

INGREDIENTS

  • Brinjal - 2 (big)
  • Onion - 1/2 cup
  • Green chilli - 2 
  • Tomato - 1/4 cup
  • Tamarind puree - 1/2 cup
  • Curry leaves
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Chana dal - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Water
PREPARATION

  • In a stove burn the brinjals and peel the skin and smash it.
  • In a pan add oil ,mustard seeds,chana dal,urad dal,green chilli ,curry leaves and onion.
  • Once onion is cooked add tomato ,red chilli powder and salt.
  • Add tamarind puree and cook for 5 mins.
  • Then add smashed brinjal and cook for 10  mins.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Side dish for idly and dosa.,
