VADA CURRY

INGREDIENTS

  • Bengal gram - 1 cup
  • Green chilli - 4
  • Cinnamon - 1
  • Cloves - 2
  • Cardamom - 1
  • Bay leaf - 1
  • Onions - 1 cup
  • Curry leaves
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • Tomato - 3/4 cup
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Cashew nut - 3
  • Roasted Bengal gram - 1 tsp
  • Water
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Coriander leaves
PREPARATION

  • Soak Bengal gram for 2 hours. Grind Bengal gram with salt and green chilli.
  • Make a paste in the consistency of vada batter.
  • In a pan add oil and fry vadas.
  • In a pan add oil, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, bay leaf, onion.
  • Then add green chilli, curry leaves and ginger-garlic paste.
  • After 5  mins add tomato,chilli powder,coriander powder,garam masala,coriander powder,turmeric powder.
  • Once it cooked well add water 1 cup.
  • When the water started to boil add coconut paste.(add coconut, cashew nuts and roasted Bengal gram in a mixer grinder and make it a paste)
  •  Add vadas and salt in the gravy.
  • Cook for 10 mins.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
