WHITE EYE BEANS PULAO (karamani)

Cooking time: 45mins

INGREDIENTS

  • White eye beans - 100gms
  • Basmati rice -250gms
  • Onion - 1
  • Green chilli- 4
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1tsp
  • Cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, bay leaf -1 (each -1)
  • Cumin seed - 1tsp
  • Coconut milk -1 cup 
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Oil and ghee
  • Mint leaves - 15 gms
  • Coriander leaves -15gms
PREPARATION

  • Soak white eye beans in water overnight or for 8-9 hours.
  • Cook the beans in the cooker for 2 whistles.
  • In a pressure cooker add oil and ghee and then add whole spices and onion.
  • Once the onion is cooked add ginger garlic paste and green chillis.
  • Then add few coriander and mint leaves and coconut milk and water.
  • Once the water started to boil add salt and rice.
  • Close the cooker and wait for two whistles.
  • Once the pressure is down open it and add balance coriander leaves and mint leaves and add one tsp of ghee and serve.
