LIMA BEANS GRAVY (MOCHAI )

INGREDIENTS

  • White lima beans(mochai)-250gms
  • Big onion-50 gms
  • Tomato-25 gms
  • Ginger garlic paste -15 gms
  • Curry leaves -5 gms
  • Green chilli -2 nos
  • Coriander powder - 1and half tsp
  • Chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - half tsp
  • Cumin powder - half tsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Salt 
  • Coconut milk - half cup 
  • Corriander leaves 
PREPARATION
  • Soak lima beans ( mochai) ( dry ) overnight. you can use fresh beans also.
  • cook the soaked beans in the pressure cooker for 2 whistles.
  • In a pan add oil and onion, let it cook for few mins .once the onion is cooked add green chillies, curry leaves, ginger garlic paste.
  • Add tomato, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala.
  • Once the raw smell of masala goes add cooked beans .cook it for 10 mins. (add the water which is used for cooking beans).
  • Add coconut milk once the beans mixed well with masalas and cook for another 5 mins.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Side dish for dosa, appam, chapati and variety rice.
